For TS - please place an Epic order (if SC has not done so) and make sure to follow up on the eConsult 1-3 business days later. It usually appears as a note in Epic.

Senior Clinician

Notify the TS during clinic that you would like to submit an eConsult.Place a referral for an eConsult in the same way that you would order an external referral or imaging referral by searching for "eConsult" in the database of orders. Fill out all required information. Inform the patient that you are placing an eConsult. Please see the slides attached at the bottom of this page for more information.

Teaching Senior

Place a referral for an eConsult in the same way that you would order an external referral or imaging referral by searching for "eConsult" in the database of orders. Fill out all required information. Inform the patient that you are placing an eConsult. Please see the slides attached at the bottom of this page for more information.Follow up the eConsult 1-3 business days later (will usually appear as a note) and include this in your sign out if the eConsult hasn't been posted by the time you finish your shift.

Access to Care Team

Nothing for ACT to do unless patient requires an in-person appointment later.

Cost

eConsults currently have no cost for our patients.

Wait Time

eConsults generally take between 1-3 days for consultants to review and provide recommendations in the form of a Progress Note on Epic.
