This referral requires charity care or a curbside appointment. The EHHOP Cardiology Fellows can help coordinate.

Senior Clinician

Be sure to find out what kind of holter is necessary - event or 24 hour.Please note that referrals for holters must be made by a Sinai cardiologist. Take whatever steps necessary to place an order for the referral in Epic.Before clinic ends, communicate the necessity and urgency of the referral to the TS.Inform ACT about the referral and send the patient to ACT to initiate the charity care process.

Teaching Senior

Include the necessity and urgency of the referral in the weekly referrals@mssm.edu email.An important note is that these referrals must be made by a Sinai cardiologist.Because of the significant cost of these referrals, the EHHOP Cardiology Fellows have helped with these referrals in the past. Reach out to them, via the EHHOP Cardiology TS, to see if a curbside is possible. If not, ACT will initiate the charity care process.

Access to Care Team

The EHHOP Cardiology Fellows can help coordinate a curbside.If a curbside is not sufficient or possible, make sure that the patient has charity care.If the does not have charity care, start the process to obtain charity care.Once the patient has charity care, contact the Emerging Referrals Manager for next steps.

Cost

Unfortunately, the cost of this procedure is very high. A patient with CCL1 will usually pay $150 for an event monitor, and $200 for a 24 hour monitor. Payment plans to allow patients to pay for procedures over a period of time can be arranged.

Wait Time

Wait time will vary depending on how long it takes to obtain charity care.
