Proper use of PPE is critical for ensuring the safety of patients and providers. The following information is updated as of 7/1/20 and full, up-to-date information can be found here.
Baseline: All students must wear eye protection (goggles) and N-95 respirator (halyard duckbill or 3M 8210 mask). To wear an N95, a student must be fit tested. N95s are approved for limited reuse and extended use meaning only one N95 should be needed per clinic.
Patient under Investigation (PUI), COVID-19+, Aerosol-Generating Procedure: In addition to the baseline protection, all students must wear gowns and gloves. No student should be a front-line or first-line provider for any of these patients.
Patients: All patients must wear a surgical mask.
Surgical Masks and N95 Respirators: Located in locker #7226 located in the IMA back hallway. Full instructions on accessing lockers can be found here. Extra surgical masks and N95 respirators can be found on CAM 6.
Gowns: Located in locker #7226 located in the IMA back hallway. Full instructions on accessing lockers can be found here.
Gloves: Located in the labs room in IMA.
The CMs will retrieve PPE from the lockers, keep at the front desk, and track what is distributed to providers and patients. This information will be recorded in the post-clinic email and the operations chair will resupply, as needed. CMs should also email the operations chair if any supplies are noted to be low (<10). A running tracker of PPE supplies can be found here.
